On observe en m\u00eame temps la diffusion de grilles d&rsquo;interpr\u00e9tation culturelles qui d\u00e9finissent les probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 comme le r\u00e9sultat des styles de vie individuels et qui soulignent les limites de la m\u00e9decine moderne. Pendant que le \u00abpatient autonome\u00bb s&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e8ve au rang d&rsquo;id\u00e9al social, la pr\u00e9vention des maladies et la promotion de la sant\u00e9 gagnent en importance. Par ailleurs, le syst\u00e8me des professions de la sant\u00e9 conna\u00eet des transformations\u00a0: de nouvelles professions et de nouvelles luttes interprofessionnelles apparaissent. Ces changements se produisent dans un contexte social caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par une hausse constante des co\u00fbts et une diminution des recettes, par des mesures de restructuration et de rationalisation des institutions sanitaires.<\/p>\n<p>La sociologie de la sant\u00e9 et de la m\u00e9decine est un domaine de la sociologie, mais aussi des sciences interdisciplinaires de la sant\u00e9 (sant\u00e9 publique). Elle apporte une contribution importante \u00e0 la m\u00e9decine sociale et pr\u00e9ventive, \u00e0 la recherche sur les professions de la sant\u00e9, etc. Les \u00e9tudes en sociologie de la sant\u00e9 et de la m\u00e9decine sont produites aussi bien dans les universit\u00e9s que dans les hautes \u00e9coles sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>Le comit\u00e9 fournit une plateforme de ralliement et de r\u00e9seautage aux sociologues travaillant dans diff\u00e9rents domaines\u00a0: il leur permet d&rsquo;\u00eatre affili\u00e9\u00b7e\u00b7s \u00e0 un corps professionnel, \u00e0 des fins d&rsquo;\u00e9change d&rsquo;information, de mise en r\u00e9seau, mais aussi d&rsquo;enseignement de la sociologie aux \u00e9tudiant\u00b7e\u00b7s et aux professionnel\u00b7le\u00b7s de sant\u00e9 (m\u00e9decins, infirmi\u00e8res et infirmiers, expert\u00b7e\u00b7s en sant\u00e9 publique, etc.).
